Pinto Art Museum is stunning on its own, but with the magic touch of Ink Reveries (events styling) and the professional work of LX Events Pro (lights & sounds), the space was transformed into the reception venue of our dreams!
Fun Fact: Alex of Ink Reveries is a licensed interior designer and long-time friend.
Our reception was skillfully hosted by Ernest, Liang's college friend, who made the program both intimate and fun-- just the way we wanted it to be!
Many many thanks to our bridesmaid and dear friend, Cheska, who produced the video and made it sure it really captured our personalities! 🥹
(We were just awed to see all the people we love and were so excited to greet everyone!)
Fun Fact: It was Mikee's idea to sing Close to You following this arrangement (Wendy of Red Velvet is one of Mikee's favorite KPOP vocalists).
We wanted to greet everyone ourselves and thank everyone for coming! We were still a bit nervous at this point, but seeing everyone's beaming faces put us at ease!
A dear friend, Geoff, then led us all in prayer before we feasted on the sumptious spread of K by Cunanan!
At this point, all the nerves disappeared, and we were just so excited to say hi to and hug everyone!
We couldn't eat much ourselves, but we heard rave reviews about K by Cunanan's appetizers, tenderloin steak in ponzu sauce, black pasta with grilled prawns, and caramel pana cotta! The lechon seemed to have been a hit, too. We were also serenaded with beautiful music (that sax!!!) by Sound Salad.
We had a lovely carrot cake from The Good Carrot. We were able to taste this one ourselves- it was so flavorful and moist! At this point, Liang had also changed into this lovely dress by Paloma Picart Atelier!
First was this beautiful piece from Liang's fellow only child, Sam, who has been a constant in her life for more than 10 years.
Next, Liang's best friends since 2nd grade, the maid and matron of honor, Mara and Julia, gave their speeches. (I honestly felt so blessed to have grown up with the best girls and to have them by my side on this most important day! 🥹)
Mikee's college best friend, Kamae, (and Kamae's comfort Dudday 😂) took the stage with another heartwarming speech.
Then, Mikee's high school best friend, Jerome, gave an executive summary of the groom (complete with powerpoint presentation and clicker!)
The last toast came from the best man, Mikee's younger brother, Jason.
It began with Liang's mom thanking everybody in my life (I also don't know how she remembered almost everyone!)
In lieu of the traditional father-daughter/mother-daughter dance, the we decided to sing You Raise Me Up instead.
Mikee and his mom took the stage for a sweet and lively number-- A.P.T.!
And Mikee's dad gave us his message!
Our dear friend, Rica, who was celebrating her birthday the next day (January 5);
Joseph and Alex, who were getting married the next weekend (January 18);
and Andrea and Beverly, who just got married in early December!
Our graphic designer and bridesmaid, Kat, who made our logo, invitation suite, newsletter, stamps, and paddles;
Audwin, who designed my ceremony gown, the moms' gowns, and all bridesmaid and groomswoman dresses;
And Cheska, who produced our introduction video!
We also wanted to thank our parents, who gave us their blessing and supported us throughout the whole wedding planning process.
Without them, none of this would have been possible!
We also took the time to thank each other for what each of us put into wedding planning-- it was truly a team effort!
This is a photo of my mom and ninong trying to practice our trio song moments before the reception started. We weren't able to finalize our number beforehand. I couldn't find an instrumental mp3 in our pitch-- the ones on YouTube were either too high or too low. Thankfully, and with the quick thinking of our coordinator, the pianist from Sound Salad listened to the pitch we wanted and offered to play for us instead. But, there was another problem: Ninong started having an allergic reaction to the dusty room we were practicing in-- he kept coughing and could barely speak. The whole night, he was worried that he wouldn't be able to sing! And, by the time we finished performing, we were all just relieved that he got through it without coughing. 😂
